Petra Hoogendoorn

Petra has a background in industrial engineering and change management. She has worked in several managerial positions at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration and the Netherlands Cancer Institute. She is a patient advocate, initiator of two health apps in oncology and does research at the National eHealth Living Lab Leiden University Medical Center.

For the past 2,5 years she has had a foundational role in the development of ISO 82304-2 health and wellness apps quality and reliability, an assignment from the European Commission. She has coordinated its health app quality assessment, in which a Delphi consensus study with 8 stakeholder groups from 6 continents was fundamental, and co-designed the related health app quality label, that was inspired by the EU Energy label and tested with people with low health literacy. She is now involved in its implementation on a national and international basis.
